Emotional Intelligence II

Updated: Apr 17, 2020

Last week we spoke about ways in which we can really turn our attention towards Emotional Intelligence for becoming great leaders, today we are going to talk about the second step in the process of being able to channelize and filter out the best changes you have observed and made in the organization. The first step spoke about how to recognize what is needed for your company, now we are focusing on the how to make this change and adapt

Figure out who are toxic to your company. Sometimes you might end up having your best employee person being the most toxic person but you don't see it. Once you do that it is easier for the rest to follow- Let me tell you this, as soon as you start implementing this you will see how there is a sudden rise in the trust and integrity factor among the people. Just as how layoffs has a psychological impact on your employees thinking- 'Gosh If I don't perform this week I might be next to be fired'

It creates lot of pressure!

Okay this doesn't mean to get everyone watchful of these sudden behavioural changes because it takes a lot for people to really adapt to new things and it can cause a lot of stress later on. So just taking casual feedback and building on it from event to event and implementing on these small pointers while noticing changes based on suggestions is what I am stressing on.

You see what I am saying? But first it is important to be self aware of where you want your company to go and how much are you willing to give and then work on it. Observe and Adapt to these changes first to be able to implement it. Let me simplify it in three simple steps :

1. Adapting new ways (more empathy)

2. 90% Listening (Clients and employees)

3. Breaking some rules

When we talk about adapting new rules or breaking some you have to start thinking on old methods that haven't been working out. Methods such as treatment of labor, language used during the event or payment methods. If you actually see, event managers don't pay up on time creating a whole circle of disrespect and skepticism among your vendors. You listen to these things more, you take a third party's opinion on what you should do better. Have more training's so that skill set is expanded. It's a community and we need to set better examples for people in this industry.

Thank you so much for reading! If you liked it please share it.

See you next week for the last part of the blog!

Bye!
