Lock down Diaries of an Event Planner

Hey guys I hope we are all still sane and trying to keep with with the new normal (Whatever that is haha) I wanted to share on what has being going on with me and my other friends. It won't be sad trust me.

So as soon as the lock down began, we found ourselves completely stuck with the situation and seeing people around us frantically try to make ends meet as jobs were lost and livelihood was to be restored. I saw a lot of my friends in the industry lose contracts and sit back at home struggling to keep up with the situation by denying it or coming up with new business ideas online to keep up with the market trends.

As the unlock down begins, we are still really concerned on what should or should not be the areas that we should be venturing out to and since there is so much turmoil in the society and a lot of preventive measures which we should be following I would like to throw some light on what we can do!

Firstly I would like to tell you that even though we are absolutely out of business, virtual platforms have taken the lead so virtually a lot of emcees and hosts have started showcasing their talent and it's working really well! So a little perspective change in every aspect that we need to accept and whatever the new normal is we need to accept it. Aren't we already masters at accepting things as they are and creating magic out of it? Event planners are known for this aspect and quality especially. Clients walk in when production starts and we act like it's okay and handle the situation, team members leave or take a sick leave when their part starts/comes up and we take charge of it and make things right or arrange for a substitute vendor as soon as we think this one isn't working out right? Why? Because there is belonging. So feeling of this belongs to me that's why I need to take up responsibility is what we have been doing, sorting out fights and misunderstandings, taking feedback, working days and nights without anything, this is a part of it as well. So why back down now?

We can always take up responsibility now as well, This situation especially take up responsibility to stay and get back on track and make the best out of the situation! Bigger challenges such as these have been faced and we've overcome such situations before and bigger ones are awaiting in the future!

So gear up, we take workshops on mental health and mind management! Come join us and understand how to make your interpersonal skills better this Lockdown! :D

See you super soon

Best,

Supriya
